When your labs say “fine,” but you still don’t feel like yourself.
You’re here for a reason. And that reason isn’t because you’re ‘fine’ or ‘normal’.
If your reading this, chances are you’ve been told your thyroid labs are ‘normal’ while you still don’t feel like yourself.
Maybe you’ve seen multiple healthcare providers who dismissed your hypothyroid symptoms. Maybe you’ve already been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. You take your medication every morning. Your TSH gets checked once or twice a year. You’ve been told everything looks stable.
But you’re still exhausted.
Your brain feels foggy. Your hair has changed. You’re cold when everyone else is comfortable. Your digestion has slowed down. Losing weight feels harder than it used to.
Or maybe you haven’t been diagnosed at all—you simply know something feels off and want someone to take a closer look because you’re starting to believe your hormone imbalances are all in your head.
It’s not in your head, and you are not being dramatic. As a clinician who specializes in thyroid and hormones, I understand that you deserve a clinician who listens to your symptoms, not just your numbers.
Thyroid symptoms can overlap with changes in sex hormones, blood sugar, iron and nutrient status, sleep, stress, and other health concerns.
That’s why we don’t evaluate your thyroid in isolation.
We look at the whole picture.
You deserve thyroid treatment that makes you feel like yourself again. You deserve to have your thyroid and hormone health concerns taken seriously.
You’re in the right place, welcome!
A Wider Lens on Thyroid Health
TSH can be an important part of thyroid evaluation—but it isn't the only information that may matter.
Your symptoms, medical history, medications, previous lab trends, thyroid hormone levels, antibodies when clinically appropriate, nutrient status, metabolic health, and other factors can all provide useful context.
At Wilderness Hive Integrative Medicine, testing is individualized rather than automatically ordering the same extensive panel for everyone.
Depending on your history and clinical needs, evaluation may include:
Thyroid Function
TSH • Free T4 • Free T3 • Reverse T3
Thyroid Autoimmunity
Thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPOAb) • Thyroglobulin antibodies (TgAb), when indicated
Nutrient Status
Iron studies • Ferritin • Vitamin D • Vitamin B12 and other nutrients when appropriate
Metabolic Health
Glucose • A1C • Insulin • Lipids and additional metabolic markers when clinically appropriate
And most importantly, we interpret those results alongside you—your symptoms, history, goals, and how you actually feel.
More data isn't always better. Better context is.
Functional medicine can sometimes become a race to order more tests.
Conventional medicine can sometimes focus narrowly on whether a value falls inside a reference range.
We believe there’s room for a more thoughtful middle ground.
Testing should answer a clinical question.
Treatment should have a reason behind it.
And your plan should be based on what you need—not a predetermined protocol.
Conventional medicine when you need it. Functional medicine where it helps. Personalized care always.

Thyroid care may be a good fit if you've already been diagnosed with hypothyroidism or Hashimoto's and still don't feel like yourself, if your labs have come back "normal" but your symptoms haven't, or if you simply sense something isn't adding up and want a closer look.
You don't need a confirmed diagnosis to get started — just a reason to want more answers than you've gotten so far.
-
Yes! A thyroid diagnosis (or even a TSH within range) doesn’t necessarily explain every symptom you’re experiencing.
We’ll look at your current treatment, symptoms, previous lab trends, thyroid function, and other factors that may be influencing how you feel, including nutrient status, metabolic health, hormonal changes, sleep, and lifestyle.
The goal is to understand what may still need attention rather than assuming every symptom is—or isn’t—your thyroid.
-
Yes. Many patients come to us already diagnosed and on medication, but still not feeling well.
We'll look at your current treatment alongside your labs, symptoms, and other factors — like nutrient status, metabolic health, and hormones — to understand what else might be part of the picture.

That depends on the person and the underlying cause. Some people start noticing improvement of fatigue and brain fog within a few weeks, while others take longer, especially if there are additional issues like autoimmunity, nutrient deficiencies, gut dysfunction, inflammation, or hormone imbalance that also need to be addressed.

Wilderness Hive Integrative Medicine is a cash-pay practice, which means we don't bill insurance directly. That lets your care be built around what's actually going on with you — not around what an insurance plan will or won't cover.

We start with a 30-minute intake appointment to go over your history, symptoms, and goals and determine which labs make sense for you. Once your results are back, we meet again for a 60-minute virtual visit to review everything together and build a plan that's specific to you.
-
Yes. We work alongside your primary care provider and any other members of your medical team — this isn't replacing your existing care, it's about adding a fuller picture to it.
